Selsley or Frocester were the choices for today. Garway and the Malverns were also possibilities, but they're more than 20 minutes away! Forecast suggested WNW light winds strengthening to maybe 8mph, likelihood of some overdevelopment, but no rain forecast, at least not in this area.
The first cycle that got everyone off the hill was quite week, forcing several to side land. I too would have landed, but Richard M over shot forcing me to turn back along the ridge. A lucky twist as myself, Tim and Peggy had a sniff at a weak climb. 100ft was the difference, allowing Tim and I to climb away whilst Peggy had to return to the hill.
After that I pimped off Tim until he landed at Swindon for an easy trip back. Drifted over Liddy hoping they'd get a climb, but it looked challenging low down. Coombe was deserted, but lovely as always: -)
Again I managed to recover from quite low, which is great for the conquering spirit, but terrible for your nerves!
Taxi from East End to the station, then lift back to the car with XC Junkies and several others - Marvellous!
