Had arranged for the Wiltshire bus to pick up at the golf course, wing the closest point it would go to Swindon. It's a great was to reduce the vehicle burden at Golden Ball car park. Especially so today as there was a hill walk / run event taking place.

Lots of pilots on the hill. Can't stress enough the importance of reading the site guide as we had a few transgressions.

In the air we seemed to spend an age getting away from the hill as base was quite low to begin with. In fact the whole flight was slow, but with some fantastic views. The HS2 scare across the landscape was something to see, and flying over Silverstone with the sounds and smells was amazing.

Had pretty much given up as we reached Northampton until Steve W found the best climb of the day. A silky smooth 2 m/s back to base. We pushed on then opted to land near a station. Job done!
