Pandy launch had plenty of sun, but a bit too much wind, and a bit too northerly. Thanks to the helpers standing ready to grab or push as needed, I got off without doo much drama, but struggled to get up the first slope on to a more north-east facing bit of ridge. I climbed in a couple of thermals, but was never high enough to consider going over the back. Luckily a tandem showed that getting up the slope was doable, so I followed them.
After a long, slow struggle up the ridge, the return was very quick - just as well, because my thumbs were almost dropping off. I had heat packs in my mittens, but the thumbs don't really benefit.
A first bogus cross-country of the season!
