Forecast showed a convergence line next to ubley so drove there and got the airspace unlocked for 12-2. After a look at the site guide found a suitable launch spot. Strong thermic gusts 5mph to 16mph. Gusts of 20mph but fleeting with 5min cycle. Could of gone xc with first climb but it felt a bit too keen. Left on the second. Challenging but enjoyable thermals. High over cheddar gorge. Then got drilled. Headed to Wedmore and surfed the thermals. Was low over the levels. Clocked a fire and headed low to it. Bumpy climb at first witj a buzzard marking it and then smooth up to 1200m over Bridgewater. Occasional smell of smoke. Kept height all way to Dunkeswell airspace and got low. Found slow climb behind Wellington. A buzzard out climbed mw so locked winds with him. For a bit in the core. Thanked it and he flew off. Kept height well to Exeter. A light aircraft flew 100ft over my head when termalling. Expressed my disgust to him. Small climb over Exeter and the pan handle but lost it. Seagulls rocketing upwind of me. Pushing upwind was difficult. Found climb just after Exeter and went up to 1600m. Had a better view of where to go from there. Decided on going to the bottom end of dartmoor as looked nice with a line of tors. Got low to them and found thermal off one. Saw another paraglider at King tor about 1400m up. Got to cloudbase at 1700m. Pushed on towards plymouth. Got low over barren bit of dartoor. Very thakful to find climb there. Over the quarries and met seabreese over Plympton. Landed in park by the old station next to river. The parks had north and south landing options. A 360 told me the wind had switched 180. Walked past familiar parts of plymouth. Got a train to yatton and uber back to van by 10.30pm. Home by 12.30am.
