A rather sweet flight with Tim Pilling and Jon Stokes. Willsworthy and Merrivale ranges were active. Corn ridge quite scratchy at first but wind picked up early afternoon so it was just soarable and stayed Northerly for once.
Flew West of the A386 to stay clear of Willsworthy range.
A broken line of convergence cloud between Mary Tavy and Tavistock. Not possible to follow the cloud East as would have headed into Merrivale range. Looking West the line convergence cloud was less defined, broken North of the riversTamar and Tavy. Flew crosswind to thermal with a sailplane, then upwind to join Tim. Decided that the only option was to fly though the convergence and land at Yelverton where we had a car. There were some ragged climbs on the seaward side of the convergence but they were taking us East. Found a lifty line to make Yelverton aerodrome(disused! ) and landed in a light SW.
