Moody and Atmospheric.
Great to be back at Glencoe. Patches of sun, blotches of cloud. Rannoch Moor is a magical view from launch. Totally mesmerising, I could watch it all day. I often have.
Not to mention the Buachaille.
Poor turnout, but a quality squad nonetheless. Maybe explained by the slightly low atmospheric pressure and the threat of showers. Not a straightforward day and not helped by the wind direction. More east than was helpful.
It was a struggle to climbout, with most everybody requiring 2 chairlift journeys. Fred led the way with an impressive climb to base, having circled in zeros halfway to the Buachaille.
My second attempt must rate as one of the slowest and least impressive climbs to base ever. It was a real struggle low down and once at base the cloud suck was a little bit scary. A great incentive for staying well below base and suffering the threat of bombing out in the rubbish lower climbs.
Had a pleasant hour thermalling with Tim J. Mostly over the moor and dicing with a long soggy walk out.
A day spent bimbling over such an impressive landscape with the aid of plastic sheeting and dental floss! Well it's not nothing. It's mind blowing.
