What A Day.

Was it a day to rival the great North South Cup of 2016, when over 30 pilots flew 100k plus from Tinto into Englandshire and an outrageous goal of Skipton at 210k was completed by 8 pilots.

Oh Yes!

Cracking day, fantastic RASP. Easy climbout and huge potential to fly deep into the Shire.

Most everyone was up and away before noon. And apart from a minor mincing routine in the Coulter foothills, the main problem was staying below the 5500ft ceiling. Clouds were very sucky. Until they weren't. Early bath for Bob. Lack of patience on rounding Langholm, saw me on the deck at Canonbie, on the border. Dooh! The pain of an early bath doesn't ease with age.

Anyhoo! The more accomplished pilots flew on, ignoring my distress and pain. Astounding flights. To goal in Barnard Castle, for Jules and Tim B. PB for Graham T. 134k. Fantastic flight for Ollie. Landing somewhere south of Graham.

All in all Epic.

Retrieve as always, almost as entertaining as the flight. Walked to the bus stop in Canonbie and onto a bus, straight to Edinburgh. Free of course if you are Scottish and old. Thanks Nicola! We'll miss you, for a week or so. Even longer, if you will gift me your motor home.

Retirement was meant to be like this.
