Took a nice climb out. At 3700' decided, as it was a Sunday, lack of public transport and with work the next day, to make my way back to the hill. Peps had mistaken a glider like mine heading in the direction of the car park to land. He phoned me to see if I was ok… To which I replied I'm at 3500' heading back. He said I should go xc. So I did! Landed on outskirts of Royal Wootton Bassett, packed and walked the 3/4 mile to receive a welcoming cup of tea in the garden with Peps. Then an excellent ride back as pillion on his BMW motor bike to get my car. My only regret was that had I known I could have flown further and Peps would still have fetched me!
Once up the air was very buoyant and it was easy to maintain height but visibility was dull and a bit murky with no sun about.
