I love the Malvern Hills as they bring back such happy memories of camping trips with my children when they were little. A run down as far as Hollybush and then up to Worcestershire Beacon was the plan, but I was lured north first by others' thermals. The southerly element to the wind only became apparent when groundspeed dropped to 5mph at the summit! A slow struggle back to launch by which time conditions had improved with beautiful cloud streets running from the Cotswolds edge. A buoyant ride south with no worrying moments enticed me to get to the furthest south hillock, Chase End Hill, one of the children's favourites for tree climbing and sliding down the slopes. The best climb of the day (4m/s) in company with 3 buzzards was a real highlight. Then back to launch only to be enticed on to Worcestershire Beacon again by Jonty heading that way. Formation return to Pinnacle followed by trying to find sink to get the slope landing in - a struggle! Great day out. The Malverns rarely fail to please.
