Not the furthest or longest flight but one I've been waiting for, for about 12 years.
We are only 33km from the coast, and many have made flights to the coast, but I never have. Not had that many xc's going North for some reason and the ones I have were early on in my xc experience, or I've been stopped by the sea breeze.
Today I had planned a 41km triangle, flying north towards the coast for 12km then east and back to field, but the with the late start due to the red arrows notam the stronger wind at launch and in the air I didn't think the triangle was going to be on, I got to 1st TP and was 3.5K from the 2nd when looking at the route home there was no sun on the ground, a line of convergence back but I figured if I couldn't stay high, which was unlikely flying into a 17km headwind, I wouldn't have many other options to look for a climb, so with some nice clouds sone sun on the ground and no noticeable sea breeze I figured I would finally tick a flight to tge coast of my bucket list.
Got low about 5km to go, thought I would be walking the last part but got a sweet climb and cruised over wells with a good 2000ft to spare.
