On the hill our group of 4 had agreed (with a forecast of increased cloud cover from 1600) on a goal of Moreton in the Marsh for train with the chance of extending to Charlbury (on the same train line) should conditions allow, Martin B and Tom M showed us the climb out which I almost missed trying to thermal whilst sorting my blank phone screen for FlyskyHy.
We regrouped over the back and minced along towards Clee where we got split taking slightly different lines, Tom and I tracked slightly south to better looking clouds and with more height connected, (whilst Gary's line didn't work and was down) Nick P didn't get such a good line and dropped away in front of Clee where he managed to eventully find a climb out (we never regrouped after that) as me and Tom cruised over.
Cleo Mortimer produced again to keep us in the game but we were soon in need of a climb searching near Mamble when Steve P caught us up and showed how its done and was soon off downwind again!
From there top cover was looking like making things a little trickier, Tom had dropped away and took a slightly different line towards Droitwich, probably for sensible retrieve as there was no sun on the ground now but there was a line of better looking clouds in the murk from Worcs that I thought might get me to Evesham if I could get across and up to it.
Luckily connected and once high cruised along to Evesham, from there the street ended but I thought I'd try my luck of a Moreton train gliding past Broadway but it wasn't to be falling short but with a lift to the station from a family I'd waved to before landing that came out to find me!
I found today was a day for trying to stay high as always but more so from Droitwich/Worcs as from there was heavy top cover and most of the clouds weren't working unless I connected with them higher.
A grand day.
Happy days!
