I was surprised when I arrived at Rybury to find just five people present, shortly six when Andrew Craig turned up. It was a while before conditions became decently flyable, when Andrew and Malcolm Beard promptly disappeared off into the distance. Most of the rest of us took off in the next cycle. I struggled to get height, going up and down in typically Rybury variable lift. Eventually, I felt I had enough height to go over the back and set off. There seemed to be lots of lift everywhere, and I thought I was sure of a good XC, though I was a bit concerned that the sky seemed to be overdeveloping. Perhaps because of my concern to keep away from the biggest looking clouds, I soon found myself heading for the ground. The journey back was easy, thanks to my XC lift wanted sign. It was the first time that I'd used it, and it quickly resulted in a lift from a nice lady who said she always enjoyed seeing the paragliders flying the local hills.
