What a craking day, I flew to the coast! My first time.
Parlick east was the obvious choice today for me.
1st flight was promising, climbed to 3k with a sailplane from the south east corner, it was interesting. I felt better when I was 100% sure he'd seen me.
After a quick break and lunch, second flight, got me to similar height again, time to go. Blue sky day, the only clouds I've seen were north of Lancaster.
Jacob's flight from yesterday inspired me today, I thought I need to aim for 007 and after the M6 go north. I didn't declare anything this time.
007 was hard work but I manage to go over it and the thermal next to the water reservoir got be back in the game. Passing the M6 I wasn't sure if I should go north or west, I drifted west following the wind, really nice view.
Next to Pilling, a guy called me on the radio from the ground, at first I thought I'd done something wrong with the local parachute airspace, but no it was just a local pilot I assume; -), surprisingly I got a climb so carried on. Blackpool tower is the new target, nice smooth climbs on the way, most probably convergence. Landing in nil wind on the beach, perfect.
Met John O on the train back, he flew to goal from Pendle, well done!
