Surprisingly good day compared to the forecast. Took off at 1pm not expecting much and so wasn't wearing any layers and landed soon after. Third tow was just on finals and picked up a shallow climb behind launch. By this stage it was too late to go for distance so decided to boat about the airfield, slowly getting higher on each climb-and-return. Finally caught a good climb with Pete Howes to base at 3400ft and set off along the shore, intending to overfly the house at Manton and then return. But ran out of luck and so landed for a cup of tea and a bike ride back to pick up the car.
