The day shut down a LOT sooner than I thought it would, I wasn't in any rush to get to the hill but when I arrived I thought I'd blown it, 15 mins of sculling about just above launch and I was really cursing.

I was grateful to Steve for the lift up, that got me in the air quicker and at least he got to fly before I left the hill too… Eventually I climbed out with someone who climbed from the front, they stayed mostly ahead until Oxford. I really should have made more of the climb at Finmere but can't complain, upped my UK PB by 50% and had the easiest journey back.

Thanks to Rob for the lift, Bryan for the company, great to catch up with Gary and then running into Lily was just the icing on a huge fat serving of cake. Grand day out and a proper XC, nearly edited my landing location details to read 'miles from the car'!

I know I don't get to fly XC much but days like today make me wanna do a whole lot more.
