The forecast was not great but I convinced Alex C and Joe D to come to the hill anyway… Cu's started to pop over to the west and South so we set a triangle down to Mitchel Dean then Hereford and back.
After a rough day in Wales the day before the thermals felt… Soft. The core was not sucking the wing in and the climbs felt fragile and need to be handled gently. More often than not it was better to find your own bit of lift than try and connect with someone climbing higher up.
Alex went charging off as the cloud pretty much lined up with our course and every source was working. With light winds the triangle was very straight forward and we landed back on the Beacon with cold hands. Plenty of sink behind the Beacon but there was climbs as well, so by the end we had a good average speed.
