Day 2 of BP Cup and 2nd flyable task. Grey skies again, but more wind.
I was about middle of the pack taking off and just missed a cycle, as I slope landed watched the first and only main gaggle get away from the hill (All in the gaggle made goal). The day seemed strangely similar to that of the yesterday, but with more wind. Although still not easy to stay up with many pilots slope landing multiple times.
Finally found a climb, on my own, slow going, and by the time I was established, I realised I did not tag the start cylinder out front of the hill. Decision was to go and get it and hope I get back up or to just take the climb and enjoy the XC. The flight won out.
Flying North over the Moorland. Great views seeing the coast and the lake district hills in the distance. Almost top landed at the very back of the moor, had me sweating with the thought of the loooong walk out, I must have willed myself up as feet were out for landing when a lucky thermal came my way. I ended up 6km short of Goal. Great flight and enjoyable pint in the village of Wray during a scarecrow festival.
