Cancelled the Gradient British Record Encampment for the day because the forecast was for heavy showers. Drove to the Mynd on the way home and surprised by a great looking sky infront of the hill, high stratus behind and a obvious front line to the south. Waited an hour for the sky to develop behind. Had a great climb out with Judith Mole to base at 5000ft. Easy transition to next street behind Wenlock Edge. Sky ahead dead with high cirrus frontal encroachment so risky push to get under better sky to the north. Payed off with another great run over Brown Clee Hill. Went into survival mode just before Droitwich with slow climb to 5000ft waiting for slot of blue to catch up. Judith got very low here and I lost her. Almost caught up with pilot on Sangria XC2 (who were you? ). Patience paid off and sky opened up again with another cloud street but airspace forced a push south into overcast. Surprised by low save over Stratford with no sun on the ground in light drizzle! Dived low onto Edge Hill which never works (and it didn't this time either! ) Lift to Bambury train station and Judith picked me up from Church Stretton (thanks)
