The following changes have been implemented for this season:
As glider performance has improved across all ranges, it is time to tweak the multipliers to reflect this increased performance. In general all UK multipliers have been reduced by aproximately 10%.
To bring Out and Returns in line with triangles, they can now be started along one of the legs. This means that an Out and Return has a Start, one or two turnpoints and a Finish. Note that this does not apply to declared Out and Returns.
The Flat Triangle definition has changed to be no leg shorter than 15%, or longer than 45%, of the total distance between turnpoints. This simplifies the previous criteria that required the height of the triangle to be no less than 20% of the longest leg.
It has become an increasing administrative problem to deal with the sites on the protected list and the demands for new sites to be included. Any future issues should be passed on to the BHPA, who will advise accordingly.
