Remembering the happy time when Covid was just a whisper, and flying was truly free and we could go XC if and when we pleased! For most of the day it looked pretty rubbish over the back, so the gaggle of us pushed into wind instead, with some doing nice O/R and some triangle attempts. At this point, this was the furthest into wind I'd flown from Parlick (later in the year I went further, mainly because Covid XC restrictions meant I had to! )
On the way back to the hill I noticed it looked a bit better over the back, so got all the height I could and went for it. As it turned out, no-one saw or came with me. It worked out really well, with gentle lift and consistently working clouds.
I landed between two trees (which were a bit close for my liking! ) and Jim Ashley very kindly came and picked me up. A really good start to the year, but it was not long after that the lockdown came into force and there was no flying until June. Hopefully it isn't too long until flying is truly free again.
