It started with 3. Waiting! We'd been on the hill all morning from around 11:00. Light NW with the occasional gust making things exciting, but even with each of us trading take offs a climb above take-off let alone a climb out still eluded us.
The glory gang had gone to the Blorenge, but we were hoping to fly and get back in time for the England match against Sweden.
So, to the day. As well as having several slope landings I also overjoyed not one but two walks up from the bottom landing. Everyone on take-off had their fair share of slope and bottoms landings. Ben was the star of the afternoon as he seemed to take off at the slightest hint of a thermal keeping us all on our toes - top man!
It was about 16:00, quite late on before we got something we could use to get above take off. Myself and one other beamed out in a 3 up and were the first to get high. I'd talked of boating out to the motorway and over to Gloucester, but the winds were a little challenging and there was no-one for company so I stuck with stooging around and enjoying over 2hrs flying - Yay.
18.30, and I'm packed up ready to leave when Wayne turns up. I get back to the car and look round only to see him at 3 grand above the hill. Some people!
