Friendly little comp between the East Anglia Tow Clubs, ours being the Norfolk Hanggliding and Paragliding club and the Suffolk Coastal Floaters. We were invited to their tow club for the first time.
The flight its self, this was I think my forth tow, I had a good climb off tow on the previous flight but all my instrument warnings started buzzing once I got up due to taking off in Wattisham Pan handle, This put me off and although I had checked for airspace I failed to make the pan handle inactive for the day. Concentration broke I went and landed.
The following Tow, some 30mins later I hit a thermal straight away and climbed to Base. For the first time, I had the confidence and sense to stay with my cloud instead of dashing off down wind once I made base, so I was flying away as I reached base and lost height then flew back and climbed up again this was done a number of times. Looking at the side of the cloud was just amazing, I have watched so many videos of others doing it, It was great to finally experience it for myself.
One thermal wonder flight yet again, but for me a rather rewarding one thermal.
Happy Days.
